Our Craft: From Silkworm to Silk Masterpiece
Crafting silk is a delicate art that balances tradition, innovation, and a dedication to quality.
At ETERNOIR, we take pride in using silk that is made from scratch, starting with silkworms raised on a diet of mulberry leaves.
These silkworms spin cocoons from a continuous thread of silk, which is carefully unwound in a process called reeling to preserve the thread’s natural strength and shine.
The silk is then degummed to remove sericin, revealing the luxurious, smooth texture that defines our garments.
Warping and weaving take place at our trusted mill in Como, Italy, where advanced technologies like dobby projectile looms ensure precision and durability.
Each piece of silk is made to order, taking up to four weeks, to guarantee the highest quality while minimizing waste.
Our commitment to excellence doesn’t stop there. Every piece of silk undergoes strict quality control, with a dedicated team inspecting its color, texture, and performance.
The silk we use is certified by Seri.co and GOTS, highlighting our dedication to environmental and social responsibility.
By combining centuries-old traditions with modern innovations, we ensure that each ETERNOIR garment is a masterpiece of elegance and sustainability.
